TK Asian Antiquities has been a purveyor of ancient and antique Asian textiles for many years. Over the decades, our collection, from various parts of Asia, has included woven and embroidered silk, wool and cotton objects which spanned the gamut of usage, size and age. These fabrics have included temple hangings, clothing and accessories, furniture coverings, horse and military related items, as well as numerous ritual and decorative hangings. In terms of country of origin, when acquiring these textiles TK has also been more far reaching than usual. Wonderful textile works from China, Japan, Indonesia, Persia, India, Mongolia and an uncounted number of ethnic tribes, which have existed in different areas in different eras throughout Asian history, have graced our collections. Over the past decade TK has focused more strongly on textiles of truly ancient origin, specifically from 600 BCE to the 13th century CE. These early pieces are primarily of Chinese, Mongolian and Persian manufacture, however, the blending of different iconographies and techniques found in many of these fabrics has been a major contributor to our current understanding of the "Silk Road" both culturally and commercially.

Of note, is that the vast majority of textiles at TK have Radiocarbon dating (c-14) and have been professionally cleaned and conserved.
