At TK Asian Antiquities we feel that the stone category comprises one of our most charming collections. The artifacts range in size from two inches to over six feet in height with the design and uses of these artifacts being as varied as could be produced, in this medium, in man's early history.

There are massive inspirational sculptures, generally carved in marble, granite and limestone, but not limited to these stones. Our smaller, sculptural forms are quite often still of great consequence, but are carved more often in jade and other hardstones. However, these smaller artifacts can be found in even the most common of stone, and still maintain great appeal and historical importance. Objects from our stone collection date from man's earliest history all the way to the 19th century.

Another large selection in our stone collection is architectural. Here, the broad selection is usually found in large sizes, and includes beautiful wall fragments, intrically carved pillar bases and extraordinary carved "end pivots" for large doors. Again, these artifacts vary in the type of stone, but the stone selection is generally more limited, primarily due to structural requirements. Our selection of these architectural objects generally range in age from the Han Dynasty ( 206BCE - 220CE) to the 19th century, with the Ming Dynasty ( 1368 - 1644CE) often dominating.  Another area of stonework that TK Asian Antiquities continually strives to acquire are scholar and ritual items. Brushwashers, "paperweights," reliquaries, inkstones and brushrests are but a few of the forms that can be found, and fortunately those are seen in an almost infinite variety of form, style & design.

One surprising offering in stone, by TK Asian Antiquities, is a stone furniture category. These objects are both ritual and utilitarian and we highly recommend that you view this selection.
